11:15 pm First Ideation Quest Tour

The very first presentation of the Ideation Quest to the public was a true success. Not only we got quite a crowded gathering at the island, but also a very curios and empathic audience. At its peak, more thank 30 people followed the guided tour along the different phases and zones of the quest.
The audience was very diverse - journalist and architects, developers and digital celebreties, old friends and new buddies. After a short intro of the new island's layout by Dolf Rhino, the crowd was introduced to the Ideation Quest itself, its rationale and 'rules of the game'. Rein Spire from the University of Innsbruck and the man behind the Quest's 'gameplay' guided people through all the stages of the exercise.

An inspirational materials from the Habitat probe had been indeed found inspiring by many participants - but also well-designed and thought provoking. In fact, already at this very first stage many participants started to ask where they can submit their ideas :)
The procession then went through various quests and playful tasks aimed at preparing the quest participants to generate more creative yet relevant ideas. These tasks include free word association, sentence completion, and collaborative - while also competitive - brainstorm.

At the final stage, where all the creations of the Quest will be eventually presented, people shared their first impressions. " Good stuff!", "Thanks for the tour!" and "We'll be back.:-)" where among the most commonly expressed ones.

But there was a lively discussion about this innovative format to support and encourage creative activities. Some people found it a bit too linear (yet they reserved their judgments till after they will fully experience the Quest themselves); they were also discussions about the impact of collective, collaborative creativity on such traditionally artist-driven disciplines as architecture.
Only future will show, but at least there are all the signals that this Ideation Quest will have the future in the next few weeks!
